Description
Hojicha (ほうじ茶, also spelled "Hōujicha") is a roasted Japanese green tea.
Unlike most Japanese green teas such as sencha and gyokuro, which are typically steamed, Hojicha is uniquely roasted in a porcelain pot over charcoal. This distinctive process gives the leaves their appealing golden brown color.
Thanks to its roasting technique, Hojicha boasts the lowest caffeine level among green teas. Its mild and smooth flavor profile allows for enjoyment at any time of the day, with little to no bitterness. For those who prefer a touch of sweetness, adding cinnamon or honey enhances the experience beautifully.
"The smell immediately made me think of genmaicha but somehow warmer and smoother. Very earthy but not too bitter. I think I have a new favorite green tea! At least a close tie with jasmine." - Richelle, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review.
This tea blend is all-natural and contains no artificial ingredients.
Caffeine Level
Light (3-4 cups of Hojicha = 1 cup of coffee)
